About Us

Quality baits. For fishermen, by fishermen.

Pigeon River Lures had it's humble start back in 2007 while out fishing for white bass during the spring run. Even if I didn't know it back then, the passion for making my own lures had already taken root. Instead of paying anywhere between $3-$4 each for spinners from the local stores and loosing them the same day to snags and toothy fish, I looked into making my own for a fraction of the price. They worked and I couldn't be happier. Then the next hurdle was fishing for trout and salmon in Lake Michigan. There again I found myself paying through the nose for weights for keeping my spawn sacs on the bottom. I bought a mold for the weights I needed and again found the mold to be a great asset and didn't worry as much about loosing the sinkers to snags or larger fish that snapped my line. Now I was really hooked and started making my own walleye jigs. For the longest time I just kept making my own stuff and one day a friend asked me if he could buy a few things from me. That spiraled into word getting out locally that I could make a quality bait for less than the stores. Needless to say, 13 years and 7 moves later, I was ready to take the next step and move into soft plastic bait making. With the support of my wife and children, I was surprised at Christmas with my first bait molds and a few colors to get started. Now a few short years after that our mold selection has grown to support fishing everything from panfish to musky including trout and catfish. At 95 profiles and probably many more to go, I still have the full support of my wife and children as we all work together with friends to keep producing a quality product. For fishermen by fishermen.
